The final Baskerville 1000 event for 2022 was Sunday 6 November.
The 13th Autocraft Baskerville 1000 was a ripper – fabulous weather, all starters finished, and record pointscore of 1025 points amassed by the outright winners.
The Mitsubishi Lance-a-Lot team of Peter and Adam Bellchambers joined by previous winner Steve Smith was victorious after a solid performance from the get-go.
After six hours and 267 laps the team was just 10 points clear of (also previous winners) Team Newie’s Mitsubishi Magna, which had an all-afternoon cat-and-mouse stoush with two-time winners Tool Racing’s Toyota, which finished third.
After leading for a while, the Toolsters managed to salvage third outright despite losing time in the pits investigating a driveshaft boot failure.
Another stellar performance by the large contingent of fantastic volunteer officials who, as usual, made the day happen smoothly. Thanks all!
