Entries have opened for Round Three of the TCRC to be held over the weekend of 9/10 July.
Originally scheduled as a Sunday-only event, the previously nominated HSCC Saturday practice day will now feature both private practice sessions for all TCRC competitors, along with official TCRC Regularity events.
Sunday will just be qualifying and racing events. The sked does not include HQs or Sports and Racing Cars.

Congratulations to all competitors and especially the prize winners in both Autocraft B1K events in May.
After cold starts in the morning the weather was kind if not a bit cool – but at least it didn’t rain.
Both days had spirited competition and as we’ve come to know, a wonderfully friendly atmosphere along pitlane with families and friends enjoying their own team spirit and the collegiality among rival teams.
Remarkably, both days featured a close day-long battle at the top but none closer than at the close of the Sunday event – a tie for first place after 6 hours with both teams on equal points and laps. A first for the B1K in its 11-event history.
Congratulations to the Sunday joint winners – the Renault Clio of Nicholas Dellas, Stellios Kaponas and Rod Bender, who managed 990 points from 272 laps. As did the Magna run by the family team of Daniel, Lachlan and Glen Newman. It was an enthralling final 20 minutes as both teams desperately tried in vain to steal at least a lap’s worth of points from each other.
Also congrats to the Saturday event winners who also engaged in a cat and mouse battle in the final hour with the other podium placers. Regularity guru and B1k co-architect Bruce Thomas won his third B1k aided by Callan Thomas and Scott Waters in their smaller, lighter more economical (than their traditional Falcons) Ford Laser. They amassed 1005 points from 251 laps after delays due to safety cars and red flags.

Thanks to Vanessa Cooper for stepping into the breech and doing a great job as timekeeper! The B1K is nothing without a reliable timing system and we had exactly that all weekend!
The next B1k is slated for 21 August. Due to the demand for entries the Club is examining the possibility of a second August B1K event.

The opening round of the 2022 TCRC kicks off on the weekend of 5/6 March with a big two-day meeting. Plenty of track time for all over three days if you include Friday practice (the latter with a modest fee to cover the ambulance cost).
There are good numbers in all categories – but some classes are larger than others! We will see some new faces, some faces we’ve not seen for a while, and some familiar faces in new cars.
Word on the street is that a couple of lap records might be threatened – that should be entertaining.
After the Saturday track activity the HSCC will conduct a special awards ceremony, followed by a barby and refreshments. The event will be a presentation of Championship trophies to category winners in the 2021 TCRC. All welcome!

The final Baskerville 1000 event for 2021 held on Saturday 27 November was a repeat victory for the TOOL Racing boys in the mighty RS500 Corolla.
A 50-point penalty for a driving-time infringement lost the team the opportunity to set a new benchmark record but they still had a big enough lead to hang on to the win, amassing 945 points after their penalty.
Strong all day and claiming second with 930 points accumulated was the Storm racing Hyundai from the north. After a close battle all day with the 13 Cabs Excel, the blokes in the Powerstroke Automotive Falcon AU scooted away to claim third with 870 points.

Several of the many volunteer officials who ran the endurance event were fortunate to win $50 cash vouchers generously donated by Mike Dillon from Bridgestone Select Launceston.
One lucky official also picked up a magnificent prize, also donated by Mike Dillon – a night’s accommodation at the magnificent, absolute waterfront Tamar Boathouse near Kayena.
The HSCC held its annual awards ceremony on then Saturday evening of the final round of the Tasmanian Circuit Racing Championship at Baskerville on 20 November.
The newest and 16th HSCC Life Member, Tony Hudson, was formally presented with his award.
Veteran racer Mick Cross was awarded SportsPerson of the Year, Greg Mays won Clubperson of the Year, Cameron Kuc is the J. Denis Pooley Young Clubperson recipient, Campbell Logan picked up Rookie of the Year, and Michael Vaughan collected the Lyn Archer Award for open-wheel competition.
HSCC Appreciation Certificates for services to the Club in 2021 were awarded to Greg De Vries, Kevin Knight, Mike Ashmore, Debbie Hudson, Andrew Bird and Ken Claridge.
